Rigging Training - ETCP Recognized Courses - Arena Rigging - Theater Rigging

Picture
I am an ETCP Certified Rigger-Theatre and a Recognized Trainer who has worked in the entertainment industry as a Rigger, Carpenter, Project Manager and Technical Director for over 20 years.  From 2005-2014 I was a tenured professor of theatre at Penn State University where I was in charge of the BFA and MFA in Scenic Technology.  While at Penn State I was able to form relationships with several companies that allowed me to begin leading rigging seminars across the country.  I have taught seminars for James Thomas Engineering, Columbus McKinnon, Mountain Productions, Cirque du Soleil and The Wynn Resort and Casino, among others.

In the rigging world I have worked for Cirque du Soleil as Lead Rigger for Maintenance at the O show at the Bellagio Hotel where I headed the maintenance of all the rigging in the theatre.  Prior to that I was an automation mechanic on the show.  Before working at Cirque I worked as a flying director for Flying by Foy where I helped design and install systems nationwide. I also performed rigging and automation inspections for Sapsis Rigging on the Royal Caribbean fleet of ships and on land.

I am currently the Director of Product Development for Chicago Flyhouse, but I live in Denver, Colorado.  I love my job, and I love living in Colorado with my wife and four kids.
